How to Connect to ACC Secure Wi-Fi for Faculty and Staff

This article will guide faculty and staff in connecting to ACC Secure WiFi on a Windows or Apple desktop or laptop.

Overview

ACC secure Wi-Fi network requires a security certificate for access. If prompted for administrator credentials during this process, submit a TDX ticket for technician assistance.

Prerequisites

  • You must have an active Okta account.
  • You must know your EID and password.
  • You must have access to the device or app you want to use to connect to wifi

Steps to Connect on Windows PC:

Select "ACC Start Here" from the available Wi-Fi network options and click "Connect."

If the following warning is displayed, click "Yes" to continue..

Once thedevice is connected to “ACC Start Here” open a Chrome web browser and enter https://wireless.austincc.edu in the address bar.

Read the terms and conditions. Check the box "I agree to the terms and conditions" and click "Start."

Select ACC Users and sign in with your ACCeID and password.

Choose the Staff/Faculty option.

Run the downloaded application to complete the installation. Click on Download.exe for Windows

If you see a message stating "Smart Screen can't be reach right now" click "Run"

Click "Yes"to allow cloudpath to make changes to your device.

When Cloudpath installation is complete, it will attempt to connect to the network:

The device is now securely connected to the ACC Wifi network.

Steps to Connect on a Macbook:

Select "ACC Start Here" from the available Wi-Fi network options. Manually closeout the Ruckkus popup widnow (it no longer functions).

Open Safari (you must use Safari for this process) and go to: http://wireless.austincc.edu

Agree to the terms and conditions.

Select ACC Users and sign in with your ACCeID and password.

Choose the Staff/Faculty option.

Select the appropriate option for your current MacOS operatin system. Note that the first option at the top is for macOS 10.15 and Prior. The option below it is for the latest release.

Follow the onscreen instructions for installation.

Once downloaded, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Profiles. Alternatively, you can search for "Profiles" via System Preferences.

Select the Austin Community College profile and click Install.

Enter your username and password to complete installation. Click ok.

Once installed, navigate to the Wifi Options and manually connect to ACC Secure. This completes the connection to ACC wifi.
