Overview

This procedure outlines the necessary steps for the disposal of non-ACC computing devices recovered from the ACC Lost and Found.

Definitions:

  • Computing Device: Electronic hardware, including but not limited to laptops, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, and USB flash drives/thumb drives.

 

Steps

  1. Verify Device Ownership: Confirm that the items are not ACC-owned devices. This can be accomplished by contacting:
  • Business Services Asset Management Team: Email amt@austincc.edu.

                       AND

  • IT Client Technical Services (CTS) Team: Submit a TDX Ticket via the TDX Portal. Navigate to the Service Catalog, select Computer/Device and Printing Support, and then Desktop and Mobile Device Support.
  1. Segregate Verified Devices. Once it is confirmed that the devices are not ACC property, collect them in a box or set them aside separately from active inventory.
  2. Initiate Disposal Request. Generate a Property Management Move form to transition the devices to the Materials Management and Logistics Team (Warehouse) for destruction.
  • The Materials Management and Logistics Team will coordinate the final removal and destruction of those non-ACC computing devices.
     

Note: No further involvement from Information Technology is required once these steps are completed.
