How to Enable Breakout Rooms in Zoom

This article explains how to enable the Breakout Rooms feature in your individual Zoom account settings so it is available when hosting meetings in Zoom or Class for Zoom.

Overview

The Breakout Rooms feature must be enabled in your individual Zoom account settings before it will appear during meetings or in Class for Zoom.

Instructions

1. Open a web browser and go to austincc.zoom.us.
2. Select Sign In and log in using your ACC credentials.
3. From the navigation menu, select Settings.
4. Select the Meeting tab.
5. In the left-side menu, select In Meeting (Advanced).
6. Locate the Breakout room – Meetings setting.
7. Select the toggle to enable Breakout Rooms.
8. If a confirmation window appears, select Enable.

After Enabling the Feature

Close and reopen Zoom or Class for Zoom. The Breakout Rooms option should now appear in the meeting toolbar when you are the host or co-host.
