Body
This article provides instructions for changing your ACC Domain password while on campus at Austin Community College using a secure network connection.
Overview
ACC employees can change their ACC domain login password while on campus by connecting to the ACC network and using the Windows Security screen. This process changes your Active Directory (AD) domain account password
How to Change ACC Domain Password While on Campus
Before You begin
- Ensure you are connected to either the ACC Secure Wi-Fi network or Ethernet - either through a docking station or directly with an Ethernet cable.
- Use a computer joined to the same domain as your account. For example, an ACC domain computer cannot change a password for an account in the Resources (facstaff) domain because they use different Domain Controllers.
Step 1. Connect to the ACC network
Connect your computer to either:
- ACC Secure Wi-Fi
- Wired Ethernet through a docking station or directly to your computer.
Step 2. Open the Windows Security screen
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard at the same time to open the Windows Security screen.
Step 3. Select Change a password
- Click Change a password on the Windows Security screen.
Step 4: Enter your password information
- Enter your current password, then enter your new password and confirm it. Press Enter to continue.
Password requirements:
- Your new password must contain at least one uppercase letter.
- It must contain at least one lowercase letter.
- It must contain at least one special character.
- It cannot be one of your last 10 passwords.

Password Change Complete
Once the change is successful, your ACC domain login password has been updated. Use your new password to authenticate to services associated with your domain account.
Note: This process changes your ACC domain password, not your Windows password. If you receive an error, verify that you are using a computer joined to the correct domain and that your new password meets all requirements.
