Body

This article explains what IT supports during office moves and how to schedule assistance.

Overview

This article clarifies that while IT handles the technical setup and breakdown of equipment during office moves, they do not physically transport furniture or hardware. To ensure your move goes smoothly, you must coordinate the physical transfer with the FF&E team and submit a Service Request to schedule IT’s assistance.

Steps

Who Handles What?

While the IT team is here to handle the technical side of your move, we aren't able to physically transport furniture or equipment between locations.

  • For Physical Moving: All campus moves are coordinated by the FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment) team. You can find details on how to coordinate your physical move on the Campus Operations website.
  • For Technical Setup: IT provides hands-on support for the "tech" part of your move, specifically:
    • Unplugging: Safely disconnecting and packing up your computers and peripherals.
    • Setup: Reconnecting and testing your equipment at your new desk.

How to Request IT Assistance

To ensure a technician is available on your move date, please let us know in advance! You can schedule our help by submitting a Service Request.
