Guide to Receiving ACC IT Equipment

This article explains who is eligible for ACC IT computing equipment and what type of device is assigned to employees and contractors.

Overview

This guide helps ACC employees and contractors understand what computing equipment they are eligible to receive. We want to ensure you have the right tools—whether that’s a laptop, desktop, or security key—to do your work effectively.

Who is Eligible?

ACC IT provides standard computing equipment to:

  • Full-time employees

  • Part-time employees (submitted by the supervisor)

  • Adjunct Faculty

  • Contractors

  • Remote/Telework staff (ACC Administrative Rules)

Device Assignment Rules

To keep our resources organized, each staff member is assigned one primary computing device:

  • Individual Staff: You will typically receive a Laptop to allow for mobility and flexibility.

  • Shared Workspaces: Areas used by multiple people are equipped with a Desktop.

Security & Sign-in (MFA)

To keep your account secure, ACC uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). If you cannot use a smartphone app for security codes, IT can provide a YubiKey  (a physical security button) per employee.

Other easy ways to sign in include:

  • Okta Verify or Google Authenticator (apps for your phone)

  • Biometric Authenticator (using your device's fingerprint or face ID)
